Tales from the Con: Jan. 26

Thursday, January 24, 2013 - 12:00 AM

It's time for another all-new
Tales from the Con by me and Chris Giarrusso, brought to you by Emerald City Comicon -- which is just mere weeks away!

Emerald City Comicon -- March 1-3 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle -- is one of the best comic conventions of them all, and it has been a must-attend for me for several years. I'll be there, and so will my Webcomics Weekly cohorts, Scott Kurtz, Kris Straub and Dave Kellett. We'll be recording a LIVE Webcomics Weekly on Friday in Hall A, and you're going to want to be there for that.

As always, I'll have plenty of books, original art and maybe even a few posters and prints from Evil Inc, Courting Disaster and Phables. If you're interested in the original art from a specific strip, please don't hesitate to hit the e-mail link above and let me know which one so I can have it on hand.

This is going to be the first convention appearance in what I hope will be a year full of cool chances to meet up, say hi, and talk comics. The only thing that'd make it better would be if you're going to be there!

I know it's difficult to do because the audio is not necessarily up to you, but can you see if you can take a feed from the main mixing board rather than recording it via a microphone in the crowd?

I have heard previous live recordings and they are fantastic, but a little difficult to hear over cheering and crowd noise. A direct feed from the mixing board would definitely put you guys up front in the audio.

Just my thoughts.

As always, we'll try. But -- as simple as it sounds -- it's never an easy task to pull off in the moment.

Hell, let's face it, we're not responsible for anything; including the things we say, do, or think. And if you sue us because you think we are? Well, we're not responsible for that either.
