The reason I don't like IndieGoGo is that they release the money to the fundraiser even if it doesn't achieve goal. That's a real danger. Consider what would happen if I had a $10,000 goal and I only made $5,000. I wouldn't be able to fund the project. And worse yet, I would have taken $5,000 from people who had donated with the expectation of receiving a book or some other merchandise in return -- who are simply never going to get what they paid for. I can't afford to treat the people who support me in such a way.
But I appreciate your thoughtfulness in passing along the information. I received notice this morning that I've been cleared, although I still haven't received an explanation as to why it took three months. It's far too late to launch the project I had planned -- a hardcover omnibus edition of the first three Evil Inc graphic novels. The books were originally b&w, and I was going to build the funds to pay to have all three books colored. However, I have another exciting project that I'm going to launch very shortly that I think will have people just as excited.
