POLL: Villain Round-Up: Supplemental

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 05:48 PM

Rounding up the latest news from the "black capes"...

Skrulls: [CBR] It's the comic book event that has everyone from Entertainment Weekly to The Wall Street Journal buzzing and now the years top-selling comic, "Secret Invasion", makes its television debut on ESPN2 tonight! During tonight's telecast of the Bricktown Showdown, the minor league baseball championship, beginning at 8pm EST, an ad for the Skrulls' "Embrace Change" cause will run multiple times.

Initial reaction: Cool! And then... Good gosh... I don't even know where ESPN2 is on my TV! Is this really well-targeted marketing?! Read the entire story here.

POLL: I'm a comic-book fan and I...

19% (31) ...am a HUGE sports fan

27% (43) ...kinda follow sports a little

44% (71) ...know NOTHING about sports

8% (14) ...I lied... I don't read comics
159 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Really, youre not missing much on ESPN2. Thats the channel that shows Magic the Gathering tournaments. At that it's better than the regional Fox Sports Net. On my way home from Comicon at a hotel, I saw-get this- competitive yo-yo. And someone actually got hurt in competitive yo-yo. Can you believe that some of them cost upwards of $200?! Can you believe I kept the channel on long enough to learn that?!

Wow, that's way more sports fans than I had assumed! Mental note: schedule a week of Mets jokes.

Meanwhile, did anybody see the ads? Were they any good?
