POLL: Thumbs up, thumbs down

Quick updates on a couple titles I've been following...

TRINITY: THUMBS DOWN

I've completely given up on Trinity. It started off with a wanna-be super-villain named... and I'm being completely serious here... Konvikt.

As if the ham-handed name wasn't enough, his accomplice is a scheming muppet.

The plot has become hopelessly muddled, and at this point, I think I've stopped caring for good. I don't care about the tarot reader, I don't care about the female gorilla, and I don't care about the Crime Syndicate (the most unimaginative super-villain group on record).

I've waited too long to see this thing go somewhere. I'm moving on.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS: THUMBS UP

I've been following Green Lantern Corps solely because I'm a diehard Green Lantern fan, and I can still remember reading the "Tales from the Green Lantern Corps" stories in the back of the GL books in the 80s.

I have to say, the title has been a solid middler for me, but this past issue is showing some promise. They've been developing some very meaty characters in the Corps, but, more importantly, they're developing one heck of an intriguing villain line-up. Most recently, it was Mongul, and now... wow.

In issue #27, a mysterious villain dumps a load of eyes right onto a group of Lanterns as they train on Oa. Whoa. That took (eye)balls.

I agree with both your opinions. (although I thought the villain's name was Konvikt). I think Trinity is failing for me because of two things: one, I'm exhausted from all of the weekly series (52, Countdown to Final Crisis). It seems that the strains of maintaining a weekly book has stretched the writing staff to the limit. On several occasions in the previous weeklies the writing seemed to get weak and I wondered at points if they were even trying.
As for the Green Lantern Corp, I have been pleasantly surprised for the entire series. Now granted I also have a stack of "Green Lantern Corps Quarterly" that I still like to read through. And if the Hal Jordan Wall (formerly "Hal Jordan Memorial Wall" but he came back) is any indication I too am a die hard GL fan, but in any event the book started out good and just got better.

Well you both have me patience then I, i got through one issue and saw it was gonna be a non-starter, which is a shame cause i love me some Mark Bagley

I'm still sticking with Trinity. Fool that I am, I know. I wasn't a fan of Konvict or his muppet. What I like about the Crime Syndicate is that it's like the Mirror episodes of Star Trek. Of course, I slow down to gape at car accidents...
