Webcomics Weekly Podcast, Episodes 36 and 37

Wednesday, June 18, 2008 - 12:02 AM

Check out the often-imitated-never-duplicated Webcomics Weekly Podcast, featuring Scott Kurtz, Dave Kellett, Kris Straub, and myself. If you love listening to cartoonists talking shop, this is a must. You can keep up with the latest updates via our RSS feed.

Episode 36: This is the recording of our live panel discussion at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. It's a terrific re-cap of the book and a good catch-up on some of our central points if you haven't been listening to our early podcasts. Listen now!

Episode 37: We discuss the Orphaned Work Act and how it could pose an incredible danger to cartoonists if it becomes law. This is an important topic to be aware of, and we give you a good overview of the bill from the perspective of working cartoonists. Listen now!

Brad, in addition to your strip, I'm a fan of the podcast and this was another great insight into the biz. I especially enjoy the discussions delving into ownership concerns within the industry like the IP farm episode.
I hope that people can take a step back and listen to episode 37 and gain the artist/small business owner's perspective on the OWA and it's potential consequences.

Hell, let's face it, we're not responsible for anything; including the things we say, do, or think. And if you sue us because you think we are? Well, we're not responsible for that either.
