Taking stock of super-villains
Mephisto: Is there a villain that holds the spotlight as firmly as Mephisto this week?
Let's look at the tally:
• Presents MJ and Peter with a no-win decision: Their marriage or May's life.
• Single-handledly retcons Spider-Man's recent history: No more marriage to Mary Jane and no more public unmasking.
• MJ gets to remember everything. And live with the pain. Which Mephisto feeds on.
• Oh! And just before throwing the switch, he shows the couple the daughter they'll never have.
