Editor's Note: The Emerald City Comicon site is now back up.So, by now you've probably heard, the Web site of Emerald City Comicon was hacked and all of the back-up files were deleted. From MyNorthwest.com:
"When a site is hacked, they hardly ever delete the backup files," says Joe Parrington, a spokesman for Emerald City Comicon.
"Someone deliberately wiped the entire thing out. And timing couldn't be worse being that we have the Cinerama announcement as well as some others coming up in the next couple of days."
This is particularly difficult for the gang at ECCC because their show debuts in mere weeks -- March 1-3 -- and this is a crucial time for promotion, announcements and ticket sales. Not to mention their tremendously well-executed weekly comic, Tales from the Con, which is posted above for your viewing edification.
Now, you've heard me say it here and on the Webcomics Weekly podcast: Emerald City Comicon is one of the best comic conventions in the United States. It is run by great people who have a passion for comics and nerd culture.
And now they need our help. Please take a few moments and spread the word about Emerald City. Tweet, reTweet, post on Facebook (and Like and Share), pin it, vine it... you know the drill. Let's make sure these guys don't get hurt so close to their show date.
Here are your talking points, all boiled down to tweet-sized morsels:
Although the Emerald City Comicon site is down, you can still buy tickets: http://ow.ly/hgGe2 March 1-3 #eccc
The Emerald City Comicon site is down, but you can get updates at their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/emeraldcitycomicon March 1-3 #eccc

And of course, after the Emerald City Comicon site is back up and fully operational, we should be making some serious noise about that, too.
Post, tweet, re-tweet, pin, like, share and find a cozy rooftop to shout from.
It's what we do when one of our own needs a hand.
