My last convention appearance of the year is coming up in a few short weeks. New York Comic Con is being held Oct. 8-10 at the Javits Center in Manhattan. I will be exhibiting under the Webcomics.com logo with my good friend Scott Kurtz.
As always, I will have all five Evil Inc Annual Report books, copies of the Phables collection, How To Make Webcomics, the Complete Greystone Inn hardcover, the Courting Disaster books, and plenty of original art.
If you have an original in mind for purchase, remember you can get them for 20%-off at convention appearances, and you can always drop me an e-mail and let me know which one you'd like me to have available.
And if you're a webcartoonist, be sure to check out Webcomics Boot Camp. Scroll down for details.
Webcomics Boot Camp: Morning of Sunday, Oct. 10
More than ever, aspiring cartoonists are looking towards the web as a means of distribution and business. But does your comic strip really have what it takes to be successful online? Brad Guigar and Scott Kurtz, founders of Webcomics.com and two of four co-authors of the book How To Make Webcomics offer a one-on-one bootcamp for aspiring webcartoonists.
Brad and Scott will present a lecture on the art and commerce of webcomics and then take their class through a collegiate-level critique of their work.
This is a limited attendance seminar. Cost of attendance is $50. (Members of Webcomics.com are eligible for a special discount.) Students will be asked to provide a contact email address, bring examples of their work for critique, and be prepared to take and offer constructive criticism in the hopes of bettering each other's work.
