Good news for Plastic Man fans!

Monday, August 25, 2008 - 10:04 PM

More news from Fan Expo in Toronto.

[CBR]: DiDio confirmed that a new Plastic Man series will happen one day, the book's biggest advocate just needs to free up some time in his incredibly busy schedule.

"The biggest problem [with the hold on the title] is we're not going to do 'Plastic Man' without Ethan," said DiDio. "That's the rule now. I don't see the reason to do it. [Plastic Man] can do guest star appearances here and there but there is no sense doing the book without Ethan. He's the most passionate about it.

"Also Plastic Man is a character that --I hate to say it-- but he needs star power to draw attention to [his title] and with Ethan's support and what he brings to the table, that's the way to do the book. But naturally with everything going on with 'The Flash: Rebirth' and other projects floating around, it's just a matter of time of getting into it more than anything else."

OK. Bad news: They clearly don't want me to draw Plastic Man. Good news: They haven't decided on a writer yet.

POLL: News from Fan Expo

Monday, August 25, 2008 - 04:33 PM

Rounding up the latest news from the "black capes"...

A 'VILLAIN-CENTRIC WEEKLY?' [CBR] Dan Didio led the 'DC: A Guide to Your Universe' panel last Saturday at Fan Expo in Toronto, and while there were no major announcements, the DC Comics Executive Editor and his creative cohorts... answered an hours worth of thoughtful and thought-provoking questions from the assembled members of DC Nation.

Among the discussions about the Martian Manhunter's death, the return of Barry Allen, and the DC multiverse was this juicy tidbit:

Didio confirmed there is not one but two weekly series in the works to follow "Trinity" ... Matt Sturges will be penning a villain centric series that will be announced soon.

A weekly, villain-centric series?! More news as it happens...

POLL: A weekly, villain-centric series from DC HAS to include the following

6% (12) The private lives of B- and C-list bad guys

7% (14) Interactions between A-listers and lower-caste baddies

14% (26) A focus on how villains see themselves

3% (6) A stormy romance between two mismatched villains

9% (18) Villains in their off-time

58% (105) All of the above. Let's face it, I want a weekly 'Secret Six!'
181 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

POLL: Get Evil Inc in your college paper... FREE

Monday, August 25, 2008 - 12:07 AM

I am offering my daily comic strip to college newspapers for the 2008-2009 academic year at an unbeatable price.

FREE.

And it's simple to a ludicrous degree. If you're an editor at a college publication, simply e-mail me at bguigar (at) yahoo (dot) com (or click here) and I will give you downloading instructions.

I will start with a couple of early storylines to familairize your readers with the concept behind Evil Inc and its main characters, then I will dive headlong into some of the very best Evil Inc stories.

If you're a college student, make your evil voice heard. Print out this handy flyer and submit it to the staff at your campus paper. Tell them you're a fan. Ask them to consider running the strip. And remind them: Free.

POLL: Evil Inc in my college paper??

3% (5) I'm an editor and I say HOO-RAH!

5% (9) I'm a student and I'm printing the flyer now!

5% (9) I'd rather not get involved. I get the shakes.

84% (130) I remember college! Twenty-three skidoo!
153 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Phables: Aug. 25, 2008

Monday, August 25, 2008 - 12:01 AM

A few-too-many beers and a lusty rendezvous leads a Jersey college student to the threshold of love (or something darned close). Now if he could only remember which threshold. Or which door. Or how to get home, for that matter. Luckily, he's in Philly.

Phables has been placed on a summer schedule by the Philadelphia Daily News. It will run every other Monday.
