On Sale Today: The Brave And The Bold #2

Written by Mark Waid
Art by George Pérez & Bob Wiacek
Cover by Pérez

Green Lantern and Supergirl are off to Ventura on the trail of the bizarre case that began in issue #1! Ventura is a planetwide casino, which would be wild enough, but it has also become a backdrop for the Rann-Thanagar War! Guest-starring Batman and Blue Beetle!

$2.99 US

This relaunch of TBATB has me riveted so far. Granted, it has only been one issue, but the preview for #2 (below) has some serious promise. The Mark Waid dialogue is crisp and punchy, and the Pérez art is pitch-perfect as usual. Check out the sexual tension between GL and Supergirl, whose age GL has to constantly remind himself of.

OK. The "casino planet" plot hook is hokey. I'll grant you that. But I'm willing to give that a pass for a couple issues until the creative team finds their rhythm.

New Courting Disaster Question

New Courting Disaster Question

There's a new question on the Courting Disaster Web site.

Although not religious, I want to wait until my boyfriend and I get married before we have sex. (I'm happy to do digital and oral stuff in the meantime.) Although he says he wants to mary me, bf says he doesn't want to get married in the near future - yet, he's been pressuring me to change my mind so that we can start having sex now instead. I don't want to pressure him into marrying sooner, and I feel bad to keep saying 'no' to him, but personally I am OK with waiting for sex until later and would prefer not to do it yet. What should I do? --'I do'... but when?

A Marvel Theme Park... In Dubai?

[CBR] United Arab Emirate-based Al Ahli Group and Marvel Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: MVL) announced today a partnership that will bring Marvel’s full library of Super Heroes -- including Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men, Incredible Hulk, The Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer -- to Dubai for a major new theme park destination being developed by AAG. The development is in line with the vision set by HH Shk. Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, through his innovative entertainment and hospitality driven expansion projects for Dubai and the UAE. Read the entire release.

Notice there's no mention of Captain America. I guess he really is dead.
