2007 Convention Schedule

Thursday, November 02, 2006 - 10:02 PM

2007 Convention Schedule

Wizard Convention has just announced its convention schedule for the next two years. Looking at the calendar, there's some really good news ahead -- especially for everyone who has been trying to get me to come back to Chicago. Wizard finally put a little space between its Chicago convention and Comic Con International!

Here's a look at Wizard's schedule:

Wizard World Los Angeles: March 16-18
Wizard World Philadelphia: June 15-17
Wizard World Chicago: August 9-12
Wizard World Texas: Nov 2-4

Comic Con International is scheduled for July 26-29.

Emerald City Comic Con is scheduled for March 31st-April 1st.

New York Comic Con is February 23-25.

Baltimore Comic Con is in September.

So this is a good time to ask: Which cons would you like to see me put on my "must attend" list for 2007?

I'm committed to New York Comic Con, Wizard World Philly and Baltimore Comic Con. I'm strongly considering Emerald City Comic Con and Comic Con International. Wizard World Chicago is now officially under consideration. Are there others I should be considering?

Halloween surprise

Halloween Surprise

In case you missed it, someone pulled one of the all-time greatest Halloween pranks ever.

[ASSOCIATED PRESS] BOONE, Colo. - Nobody knows who, but someone with a lot of Halloween spirit decorated this small southern Colorado town with hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins.

Residents woke up Tuesday to find virtually every surface covered with the orange holiday icons. There were pumpkins left on front porches and at front gates, on the front and back steps of a church and all along the boundary of the city park.

Larry Taylor said there weren't any pumpkins when he walked his dogs at about 10 p.m. on Monday in the town of about 330 residents, 110 miles southeast of Denver.

But by the time Postmaster Nancy Pennington drove to work at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, they were everywhere.

At Boone Grocery and Hardware, pumpkins were placed on top of the concrete parking stops out front.

"It's kinda cool," said employee Bill Coyle. "It's kinda unique. Throughout the town there's probably a couple of hundred of them. They're everywhere."
